Half Up Top Knot For Short Hair With John Frieda

My hair color is something that I've been playing with ever since my mom and I camped out in the bathroom one night with a $10 box highlight kit when I was in the 6th grade, because I insisted that I wanted to be blonde. My step-dad obviously wasn't a huge fan of the idea, so when I got in the car to head to school the next morning I literally told him nothing was different with my hair when he asked, and insisted that he must be crazy. Smooth operator over here, people.

Luckily, I've since grown up and seen the light when it comes to box coloring my hair, but salon visits are just so darn expensive! One of the things that I seriously struggle with between appointments is the richness of my color. The first sign of brassiness or a mousy brown color has me running to the salon. That's where John Frieda's new line of Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ Colour Deepening Shampoo and Conditioner comes in!

Oh, and did I mention that I can drive right up the road to Walgreens to pick them up in a pinch? I swear, I'm a total sucker for making things as easy as humanly possible, and any excuse to avoid the huge crowds of a big box store has me sold immediately. I have yet to find something that keeps my color rich between appointments until now. I'm pretty picky about the products that I use, so the fact that the main ingredients are cocoa and evening primrose oil made me feel super comfortable to put it on my hair.

All of that brings me to this super fun look that I've been totally hooked on lately. If you've been around for any length of time, you know that I'm a huge lover of top knots. Ever since I cut more than a foot off of my hair a couple of months ago, top knots have been a sad and distant memory. That is, until my hair grew a full inch and enabled me to finally throw it up in a half knot! Who says you can't have short hair and rock a top knot, too?
