Guys! Our living room is almost finished! I'm so excited to finally start showing room tours from around our new home, and so thankful to World Market for helping us create the perfect cozy space. When we moved into our house the first thing I wanted to do was to get our living room together ... It's where we naturally spend a majority of our time from me working on the couch most days to date nights at home complete with all the ice cream on the weekends.

One thing that I always seem to neglect is updating our space according to different seasons ... Last year was the first time we had really decorated for Christmas, and it totally lit a fire under me! Every season I update my wardrobe with new clothes, so why wouldn't I do the same thing for our home? I mean, if we're being real here, the closest I've gotten to making our home super cozy for fall in the past is by hoarding way too many pumpkin and apple scented candles. 😅

When World Market reached out and wanted to help us breathe some of my favorite season into our space, it was a no brainer for me to say yes! I mean, have you seen their new fall collection? It's seriously amazing ... and if haven't seen it yet, you need to make a trip to your local store ASAP! 

Now, back to all the cozy vibes of our new living room! One of the hardest mental blocks I've had to get over in designing this room is the color scheme ... I wanted something that would carry us through each season, but wasn't too 'in your face' bright. Y'all should've seen our second apartment ... I so wish I was blogging back then!

We literally painted EVERY single inch of that 900 sqft space. Think bright poppy orange, aqua, candy apple green, and mustard yellow. All on the walls. And also all in view from the front door. 🙈 I so wish I had some advice like this from a trusted designer back then. It would have made all the difference in the world!

Ever since recovering from the headache that those blinding walls caused for the year we lived in that apartment, I've stayed clear of bright colors. Even after swearing them off for so long, I knew that we needed a little bit of color to liven things up since there are nothing but muted and neutral tones naturally worked into the design of our house. That's where this statement rug, and all of the pillows / blankets / poufs from World Market pushed me a bit out of my comfort zone, and straight into loving some bright color again! 

If I'm being honest, this rug has been totally throwing me off until recently. That hot pink in the corner? Yeah, it totally made me regret our rug choice. That is until World Market stepped in! They wanted to see a space that was super cozy and ready for fall which to me means new pillows, blankets, and accessories ... Now, this might not be your traditional view of a 'fall decorated space',  but these cozy textures seriously have made all the difference in the world! 

It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of the cooler months (winter is #theworst) so keeping color in our space was a top priority for me. It's the one area that I can control, and I don't see the point in darkening things up inside when nature is already taking daylight away from us in the first place! The one thing that came to mind when I was trying to think of how I was going to bring some warmth and cozy vibes into our living room was playing with texture. Wood, leather, knit, linen, fringe, woven fabric ... all of those textures played a huge part in making our space ready for the new season without compromising our color scheme!
