The Best Places to Buy Fake Plants

Oh, how I wish I was one of those people that could keep plants alive ... I've tried growing herbs, tiny succulents on the window sill in my kitchen, and I even got the "easiest" flowers for my front porch, but after killing every single one of these plants, I've decided that fake ones are more my speed. I mean, let's be real here, I have enough things I'm responsible for keeping alive throughout the day (you know ... like Emmy + Kodah πŸ™ˆ) that I definitely don't need to add a ton of plants to that list. Know your limits, people! πŸ˜‚

The only real plants you'll find in our house are fresh flowers from the grocery, but that's because they're not meant to live forever, and you can't really replace the look of a super pretty bouquet of flowers! For some reason I can totally handle switching out the water in a vase to make flowers last as long as possible, but the pressure of keeping even one big plant alive is enough to make me spend way too much money on fake ones. πŸ˜…

If you're a fellow plant killer, or you just want the super trendy look of plants everywhere without the fuss, don't worry! We can still enjoy how pretty plants make our houses look, just without all of the stress. Plus, we don't have to worry about water spilling out all over our hardwood floors when we inevitably use the wrong planter to plant said plants ... πŸ˜‚ Honestly, I think we're the real winners in this situation!

Here are my all time favorite places to buy fake plants ... I have one in almost every room of my house, so you could say I'm an expert at this point. πŸ˜‰

Target

Target is my favorite place to buy most things in life, but their fake plants are too good (and inexpensive) to pass up! I have their mini succulents on the window sill in our kitchen, in the living room on the coffee table, and on our bedside tables in the bedroom. They have a new line called Project 62 that is seriously making all of my crazy fake plant lady dreams come true! πŸ˜‚I have this potted snake plant from the line in our living room in my favorite little corner of our house that's overflowing with plants. People honestly can't even tell this one isn't real! πŸ™Œ

homegoods

Y'all, Homegoods is a very dangerous place. πŸ˜‚ I swear every single time I walk in there I leave with a new fake plant. Our local stores have an entire aisle dedicated to nothing but potted artificial plants, and the pots they come in are enough to make you need one for your house! The one in the photo above is my most recent find - there was no way I was going to pass up that pretty blue color that matches the backsplash in our kitchen, and the wooden stand that perfectly matches our mantel in the living room!  Unfortunately, you can't shop Homegoods online so I can't share my favorites, but you can click here to find your local store!

Pier1 imports

It's always a hit or miss as to whether I'm going to find something at Pier1, but two things I can always count on is that I'm going to walk out with a new throw pillow + a fake plant (or five)! I swear one of these days Sean's going to call me out on both my plant and pillow obsessions. πŸ˜‚ I have one of my plants from Pier1 styled on the built in hutch in our dining room (pictured above), and another in the fake plant corner in our living room that I mentioned earlier! I've found that their plants don't necessarily look like they're real plants, but the ones I've bought are supposed to look fake so they've worked for me!

West Elm

I haven't bought any "fake" plants from West Elm, but I do have a few of their dried flowers that I absolutely love! I have their dried lavender in one of our bathrooms, and their marigolds in my office, but y'all ... their dried eucalyptus is my FAVORITE! It smells like fresh eucalyptus, you can't tell that it's dried, and it's perfect for me to use in photos, too. I literally used to buy fresh eucalyptus once a week specifically for photos so this stuff has been amazing! I always associate West Elm with a higher price point, but their dried flowers range between $12-$22 which is NOTHING once you see the quality!

So, what do you think? I clearly love the look of fake plants (always have to have real flowers though), but I know they're not for everyone! Do you have a black thumb or green one? Do you have any go-to places to buy fake plants? Let me know down in the comments! I hope you enjoyed this little guide to adding all the fake plants to your life! 🌿
